Relief Models, a Multipurpose Tool for Improved Natural Resource ManagementThe Experience of the Upper Nan Watershed Management Project in Thailand

The use of three dimensional topographic models (3-D models) in the context of participatory watershed management had its origin in the Doi Sam Muen and Highland Development Project in Thailand. Thereafter the models have been serving many projects relating to natural resource management. More precisely, it has been use for addressing intra-village conflicts for land use and improving natural resource management including fire management.
